Charlie Goss: Inner Beauty, Outer Expression
Opening Reception: Friday, September 5, 2025, 5-8pm
This collection of figurative oil paintings delves into the complexities of the human form, challenging conventional beauty standards and celebrating the power of inner strength. By employing bold colors, expressive gestures, and the evocative power of the face, these works invite viewers to engage in a profound and personal dialogue with the subjects depicted.
The paintings aim to dismantle the idealized notion of female beauty, often imposed by societal expectations. Instead, they highlight the inherent beauty that radiates from within, rooted in individuality, resilience, and vulnerability. Through the use of expressive brushwork and vibrant colors, the paintings convey a sense of depth and emotion. The faces, in particular, serve as portals into the souls of the subjects, inviting viewers to contemplate their own experiences and emotions. The interplay of light and shadow further enhances the dimensionality of the figures, creating a sense of presence and intimacy. Ultimately, this collection seeks to inspire viewers to appreciate beauty in all its forms, to challenge societal norms, and to embrace unique identities. These paintings aim to leave a lasting impression, empowering viewers to see themselves and others in a new light.
