Jane Stevens

Show ran from 5/2/2012 to 5/26/2012

Opening Reception Friday May 4, 7-9pm

In her exhibit, Points of Departure, Jane Stevens focuses on both personal and natural landscapes. The landscapes in these photographs are a visual metaphor for the artist’s transformative process and journey into the world.

In 2010, she published a book of photographs entitled “Dusty’s House: A Victorian Treasure” and in 2011 she completed a book entitled” An Artist’s Life: The Work and Life of Don Seiden”. Even with everything becoming digital and being online nowadays, publishing a book of your work each year is a great way of saving and showcasing your favourite work. There are many self publishing companies who can help you to distribute your book, so it doesn’t have to be a difficult task. These two books of Stevens’ led to this 2012 exhibition which focuses on visual images and the moments where journeys begin.
