Letting In The Light is an exhibition that celebrates the art and life of Arlene Levey (1954-2013): painter, weaver, sculptor, costume designer, writer, wanderer, searcher, traveler, rebel, and ARC member.

“The past lies in layers, each of them thin, barely opaque, like skin, resisting the tug to be told. There is a time to peel back the layers, let in the light.”

– Excerpt from “Waiting For The Light” by Arlene Dahl Levey

Esther Charbit

Show ran from 5/1/2014 to 5/24/2014

Esther Charbit has painted over…cut up…ripped apart… added to… and/ or subtracted from some of her former paintings to create her new show, Redux,  at ARC Gallery.

Re-working her old paintings has resulted in clarifying her ideas and evoking more emotional impact from these re-imagined pieces. A vibrant energy has been awakened in her and is apparent when viewing this exhibit.
