Rachel Zollinger,  installation

The installation Rendition addresses compromised existence through iteration and mass assembly. Rachel Zollinger employs copper as her main medium, citing its inherent radiance and malleable potential — similar reasons why this material is, and will continue to be, in high demand everywhere. This installation is a reflection of her own role in the ravenous pursuit of this resource. In the simple and redolent geometry of spherical form, the fractured pieces present a disquieting violence. Slight dissimilarities in the individual pieces suggest the effects of a different trauma to its form, a variance in the violence wielded upon it. In its orderly mass, Rendition is a consideration of human impact on a delicate landscape.

Monica J. Brown,  mixed media

The stories of our personal history which live in our bodies and the stories of our ancestry which we carry in our DNA inform and shape the way in which we view the world and our place within it. Moving through a familial mythology in The Path of Memory, Monica J. Brown traces her way back through her matrilineage, with an inquiry into discovering that which is gained and/or lost through generations of women, passed down from mother to daughter through genetic memory, bloodlines and dreamscapes.
This interdisciplinary exhibition includes painting, collage, letterpress, assemblage, poetry, prose & sound.

Jessica Gondek, mixed media

In Ecstatic Technology: Enterprising Series, works are inspired by domestic utilitarian sources. Jessica Gondek’s process begins with digital manipulations from vintage advertisements for fashionable consumer gadgets for the home found in the Enterprising Housekeeper Catalogue and Recipe Book, a publication circa 1902. The digitally printed elements Gondek creates are generated in the cyan color to recall blue prints or plans. The digital prints create a foundation for the modification of the context of these household objects. The drawing medium in particular allows for both transparency and mutability between layers of information. The mechanical forms within these compositions are simultaneously transformed asserting an animated physical presence and internal narrative.
